NMI Women of Destiny will be launched on Sept. 6, 2022, its president, Lorraine Ada, said.
Women of Destiny is a non-profit organization that supports individuals who are victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and people in recovery, she added.
Ada said at their launching, individuals who need services such as treatment or advocacy will have an opportunity to meet with community stakeholders.
She said the venue is yet to be determined.
According to Ada, the organization will receive referrals from various government agencies such as the Department of Public Safety, the CNMI Superior Court Drug Court, and the Community Guidance Center.
“I am a Drug Court graduate,” Ada said, “My goal is to give back to the community and help others, because I once was there.”
Women of Destiny’s office is located on the 2nd floor of the Marianas Business Plaza in Susupe.
“Recovery works,” Ada said. “And anything is possible…you just have to believe in God.”
