More than 700 registered voters are expected to troop and cast their votes at the polling center in Ladk Building at the Senior Citizen’s Center in Ngiwal.
There are 13 candidates who will vie for the legislature seats. Among the candidates are Stephaliza G. “Baisach” Ngirameong, Ellender Ngirameketti, Cisco Melaitau, Hideki Takataro, Azaria “Asa” Timarong, Romeo Teliu, Happy Ngirakesau, Manasseh “Nash” Temol, Russel Masayos, Joshua Darrow, Francis “Titich” Termeteet, Margie Bechab and Alice Pangelinan.
Election Officer III Festus Ringang said among the 13 candidates only seven will be elected to occupy the seats in the Kelulul a Kiuluul.
The election will start from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
He said that after election the ballot box will be brought to the Election office and the counting will start. However, the deadline of the election office to receive absentee voting ballots will be on August 17.
Ngiwal State has 715 total registered voters.
The elected legislators have a period of two -year term in office.
Meanwhile, in Ngarchelong State will also conduct its General election on August 31. Incumbent Gov. Browny Salvador and Lorenzo Ngiramolau will vie for the gubernatorial seat. While for the legislature there are 14 candidates who will compete for the eight seats.
Among the candidates are Abraham Osima, Allen Kangichi, Richard Ngiratrang, Immanuel Maldangesang, Kenneth West, Ingeang Rimiirch, Ngirablau J. Sambal and Caleb Tekriu. Dorothy T. Kuroda, Alvina Merur, Hirohito Renguul, Kyoko April, Aderiano Noah and Dwight Ngirchemai.
