Emani Fakaotimanava-Lui, managing director of RockET Systems, the company that manages the service, will travel to Kenya in late September to collect the prize and a development grant of close to $8,000.
According to Fakaotimanava-Lui, “This award recognizes our team for their hard work and the creative and innovative solutions they come up with.
Niue may be a small island with a small population, but it is a real challenge providing our people with a reliable internet service. Every day we have to overcome issues arising from a tropical climate, saltwater corrosion, the rugged terrain, dense vegetation and an unreliable power supply.”
