NMI-born Jemilyn Sakisat promoted to Army captain

A CNMI-BORN member of the U.S. Army National Guard, 1st Lt. Jemilyn A. Sakisat, was promoted to the rank of captain on March 6, 2022 at the Guam Army National Guard Readiness Complex in Barrigada, Guam.

In a statement to Variety, Sakisat said:

“I left Saipan [in] 2009 to further my education, receiving my bachelor’s degree at University of Guam in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Economics and Human Resource Management.

“I commissioned through the UOG Reserve Officers Training Course program as a 2nd lieutenant, branching [into] military intelligence [and was sworn] into the Guam National Guard.

“I never thought this day would come, but each and every one of you have contributed to my growth as a leader and as a soldier. To the soldiers, NCOs, and officers, I have worked under, worked with, and shared common paths, there are no words that could express my sincere gratitude for molding me into the officer I am today. You all have been a great influence to this new milestone,” the new captain said.

Sakisat also serves as the program coordinator/military technician of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Guam-CNMI Committee.
