NMI chief justice names judge pro tem in lawsuit against Senate

CNMI Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexandro Castro on Tuesday appointed Guam Judge Alberto Tolentino as judge pro tem in the lawsuit that aimed to stop the Senate impeachment hearing which concluded on Wednesday with the acquittal of Gov. Ralph DLG Torres.

The lawsuit was filed on May 11, 2022 by independent Sen. Paul A. Manglona, and Saipan residents Carmen Patricia Deleon Guerrero and Bruce Lee Jorgensen who asked the court to invalidate the Senate impeachment rules and stop the Senate impeachment hearing.
