Non-critical government employees can take grant administrative leave on Friday

(Office of the Governor) — In the spirit of the upcoming Labor Day weekend, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres and Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios have authorized the non-critical employees of the Commonwealth government to take administrative leave after 12 noon on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021.

“Labor Day is an annual celebration of the social and economic achievements of American workers in our country. Here in the Marianas, we recognize the work and accomplishments of all our essential workers — both in the public and private sectors — who have contributed to the safety of our community during this pandemic,” the governor said.

“It takes a home, a village, an island, and one Marianas to keep our closely-knit community safe, and we did that together against all odds. This weekend, we celebrate our front liners, doctors, nurses, our Covid-19 Task Force, law enforcement officers, firefighters, bus drivers, and our government employees who do good work every day for our islands to keep us safe from disease and to rebuild our economy,” the governor added.

“Take time this weekend and share it with loved ones and friends reminding ourselves that we are one family working together to build a safer and more prosperous Marianas. Un Familia, Un Guinaiya, Inafa’maolek, Tipiyeew.

“Have a happy Labor Day weekend, everyone! Please stay safe and celebrate responsibly.”
