OVER 300 jobseekers attended the “Rebuilding the Workforce of Tomorrow” job fair hosted by the CNMI Department of Labor at the Hyatt Regency on Friday.
The event, which was free and open to the public, featured employers in the government and private sector.
“It’s a call to all of the jobs that were lost during the pandemic. We’re hoping to cover that loss,” said DOL Director of Employment Services Eugene Tebuteb.
Participating entities included Aqua Resort Club Saipan, Kensington Hotel Saipan, Pacific Islands Club Saipan, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Triple J Saipan Inc., Herman’s Modern Bakery, Joeten Enterprises Inc., Coca Cola Beverages Micronesia Inc., Subway Saipan, IT&E CNMI, Pacific Oriental Inc. Tebuteb said this year’s job fair appears to be the biggest compared to previous events.
“The overall turnout was good. We hope that at the end of all of this, folks actually get hired,” he said.
Tebuteb said CNMI DOL holds job fairs on an annual basis based on the needs of the local economy and workforce.
“We’re just hoping for the best outcome, which is for the many job-seekers who came [to today’s job fair] to actually find and keep a job,” he added.
