Pacific Flier assures flight plans will proceed

Pacific Flier Airline is supposed to start flight on January 15, however the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) failed to grant Pacific Flier a foreign air carrier’s permit due to ownership issues.

Aviation Matters Chief Executive Officer Rex Banks in an interview said that FAA will grant permit.

“FAA said that it do not have grounds for objections,” Banks said.

Banks said that Aviation Matters is expecting that the permit will be granted in 10 days.

Banks said two competitors, one from Japan and Washington protested the airline’s application for a foreign air carrier’s permit.

“Major airlines wait the last second to put objections,” Banks said.

The Airbus A310-300 the airline is using is from Hi Fly-Transportes Aereos, S.A, a Portuguese-based leasing firm.

Banks, however said that the FAA has investigated the protest and assured Aviation Matters that it has no grounds not to issue the permit.

According to FAA the Palau- based airlines is incorporated in Palau and majority of its owners are not citizens making it a foreign controlled airline.

The airline has 18 business and 176 economy passenger seats.

One way fare from Clark to Palau has been pegged at $230 per person and $459 return, exclusive of government taxes.

Pacific flier scheduled departure every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday from Palau to Manila Clark at 7:00 am with arrivals at 10:35am for a travel time of 2 hours and 30 minutes. Schedule for departures from Clark is every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday leaving at 5:40 pm arriving Koror at 7:10 pm Local time.
