Palau awaits U.S. response on Compact disagreement

This was revealed during the public forum held on Tuesday to inform the public about the status of the Compact.

THE signing of the $250 million financial package between Palau and United States Compact is not yet clear as the two parties are still ironing out minor kinks in the agreement.

In earlier interview, the president said that the two parties have yet to determine the allocation and funds and had to agree on structural details.

The president said the U.S. group wants the amendments to be in a separate agreement, while the Palau government wants it incorporated in the Compact agreement itself.
