Palau EQPB issud permits

Three (3) residential permits were issued to the following individuals:

PEA-070-09, Mr. James Madracheluib at Mengellang, Ngarchelong StatePEA-072-09, Mr. Carson Olkeriil at Ngerbeched, Koror State, andPEA-073-09, Mr. Henry Saiske at Iyebukl, Ngarchelong StateThree (3) other permits were issued to the following individuals/businesses.PEA-021-03, Airai State & Surangel & Sons Co., were issued a permit extension to continue dredging operations at the Uchul a Ngas Dredging Site.  This is the 3rd extension of their original permit.PEA-012-09, Augusto Ngirmang & Galaxy Builders were issued a permit to construct a two storey six unit apartment/commercial building at Malakal, Koror State.  This project also involves the construction of 16 concrete columns and foundation in the marine water across from King’s building and adjacent to the Palau Coral Reef Foundation.PEA-066-09, Laurentino Ulechong was issued a permit to construct a 160 ft. long x a maximum of 15 ft. high retaining wall and backfill area within his residence at Meketii, Koror State.The EQPB Office would like to inform the public to please refrain from burning yard waste as with the current weather conditions high winds can carry smoke and ash particles over great distances.  The dry heat has also created brush that is most vulnerable to burning and can easily get out of control.  If you must burn, please apply for a no cost Open Burning Authorization, however, we encourage individuals to find alternate ways to eliminating yard waste.  EQPB welcomes any comments and concerns that the public may have and can be reached at 488-1639/3600 or via email, [email protected].  In doing so, we help each other continue our efforts in helping to protect our pristine and fragile environment of Palau.
