Palau, Malaysia discuss forging of ties

President Johnson Toribiong said that this is one of the issues discussed during the visit of former Malaysian Prime Minister H.E. Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi who arrived in Palau with his delegation Wednesday for a three-day visit.

Toribiong said that among the issues discussed during the meeting were palm oil plantation, a Malaysian airline flying to Palau, tourism and hospitality, education, health banking  and insurance.Badawi and his delegation  arrived in Palau via a Malaysian military jet.Toribiong and Senate President Mlib Tmetuchl  led  the welcoming ceremony   at the Palau International Airport  with red carpet honors and color guards salute.Badawi is  accompanied by his wife Tun Jeanne Abdullah  and , eight others and five crewmembers of the Malaysian Royal Air Force.  Badawi  is a Malaysian politician who served as Prime Minister from 2003 to 2009. He was also the President of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), the largest political party in Malaysia, and led the governing Barisan Nasional parliamentary coalition.

Badawi and his delegation toured the Capitol, visited Peleliu State  for the the Nautilus Project  blessing, tour of Babeldaob, oil storage tanks in Aimeliik and potential agricultural sites  as well as tour of the tuna industries and Palau Mariculture Demonstration Center.
