Sumang’s father Alan Seid said, “It was a happy day for our family and many of Sumang’s friends. We are happy that he becomes among the other Palauans who have persevered to gain a college degree and also adds to the list of other Palauans who are alums of Chaminade University who are now contributing to society.”
The goal of pursuing a master’s degree in business with emphasis on Airlines and aviation is Sumang’s plan.He has decided to seek work experience in the airline field and work for a year before attending Graduate School. “The few moments when you see your son in cap and gown walking up to receive his diploma brings tears to my eyes when you think that for so many years we hope and pray that God will guide them to this day.It is a moment worth much more then all the sacrifices to support them over the many years. It is our hope that Sumang may also help his country of Palau someday in the future.”Sophie Seid, the mother of the graduate commented.
Desiree Ourad Seid, the younger sister of Sumang also graduated from Hawaii Preparatory Academy a high school in Waimea, Hawaii. It was also a great celebration for the family as Desi also graduated with honors and now prepares for college.Desi will be attending the University of San Francisco, a very fine school, this fall.
Desiree will be majoring in Business with emphasis in International Relations.
“We believe in the saying that education is the key to a successful future and wish to congratulate all of the graduates of 2010,” Alan Seid said.
