The PTP is one of the four Japanese Government Scholarship offered to Palauan students on a yearly basis.
In a simple ceremony held at the Japan Embassy, yesterday, Japan Ambassador Yoshiyuki Sadaoka handed over to Rudimch his passport and ticket.
Sadaoka said he was impressed with Rudimch for his continuing endeavors to pursue his study.
Rudimch on his part said that he was thankful to Japan government for the great opportunity he was given unto him. He said that he will do his best to succeed in his chosen career.
Rudimch first applied for the scholarship in 2008 after graduating from Mindszenty High School. At first try, he was not accepted. Not to be discouraged. Rudimch enrolled at the Palau Community College (PCC) to pursue an Associates Degree in General Electronics. While enrolled at PCC, he again applied for the scholarship in 2009. For him, the second time was the lucky charm as he was finally awarded a full scholarship.
As the scholarship provides for one year of language program. Rudimch will first attend the Japanese Language Training Center in Osaka before moving on to Chuo Kogakko in Tokyo, Japan to pursue his studies in Civil Engineering.
The four scholarships offered by Japan to Palauan students on a yearly basis include: Professional Training School, Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Teacher Training Program.
These scholarships cover all expenses including tuition and school fees, living allowances and travel taxes expenses to Japan.
