Melson Miko, community/support service manager, said that as the PVA is a member of Olechotel Belau Fair, Independence Day, United Nations Day and World Food Day, they are preparing for the various activities started on Oct.1 – 3.
He said there are different activities being lined-up on the three-day affair.
On Oct. 1 there will be a parade of nations in which all nationalities here in Palau are invited to join the parade representing their country and ethnic traditions.
The parade will start at 8 a.m. and followed by opening ceremony at 10 a.m. at the old OEK building.
A traditional dance will perform by men and women and traditional games. Local foods, arts and crafts will also display at the Bethlehem Park. There are also some visual exhibition like waving and carving of jewelry and animal exhibition as well.
On Oct. 3 according to Miko, a boat race will be held at the Palau-Japan Friendship Bridge.
Miko said the PVA and the organizing committees are now collaborating for the preparation of the events.
On Oct.1 Palau will celebrate its 16th years of independence.
