Philippine consulate to observe strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols

(Press Release) —  During the joint Philippine Consulate General-Guam and Philippine Honorary Consulate-CNMI consular mission slated to begin on Thursday, March 18, Covid-19 protocols will be implemented to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being, Honorary Philippine Consul to the CNMI Glicerio “Eli” Arago said.

The joint consular services will be held at the Sun Palace Hotel, where the Philippine Honorary Consulate-CNMI Support Office is located, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., March 18 to April 11.

Assistance and services will be provided strictly on a per-appointment and per-schedule basis only. Those with appointment must show up 15 minutes prior to their  scheduled time.

Those who have yet to make an appointment are encouraged to call the Philippine Honorary Consulate-Support Office at 233-6293.

At the Philippine Honorary Consulate-CNMI Support Office:

• Everyone must wear a mask.

• Everyone must sign up/register before entry. A sanitation station by the entrance has been set up.

• A temperature check is required.

• Six-feet social distancing will be enforced.

• No “chaperones” are allowed except for minors/children and the elderly who need consular services.

• Crowding or standing by are not allowed at the Philippine Honorary Consulate CNMI-Support Office.

“As we are all aware, our Governor’s Covid-19 Task Force and all of our public health authorities have been working round-the-clock in ensuring that our small community remains safe for us to move around,” Philippine Honorary Consul Arago said.

 “Let us not be complacent. We can do our part by following the guidelines and protocols that have been put place to help protect everyone,” he added.

The Philippine Consulate General-Guam’s representatives to this joint mission are Consul Alex O. Vallespin, team leader; Jermyn Julius R. Checa, consular assistant/passport officer; Fritz Gerald A. Fernandez, consular assistant for passport; Ferdinand E. Villamor, consular assistant for other consular services; and Ellen P. Morco, collecting officer.

Honorary Philippine Consul to the CNMI Arago  leads the Saipan team whose members are Annamae Adaza, welfare officer and community affairs; Ariel Mariano, legal affairs; Mario Mayuga, operations and community outreach, and Ulysses Torres Sabuco, government and public affairs.
