KOROR (Palau Horizon) – 2010 is going to be a busy year for state planning agencies. Many states have passed planning acts that call for master plans to be developed.
The Palau EBM Partnership a group that includes the Palau Conservation Society, Palau International Coral Reef Center, the Belau National Museum, the Palau Environmental Quality Protection Board, the office of the Palau Automated Land and Resource Information Systems is working to provide these states with the information and tools they need to develop their plans.
One such tool is Community Viz. CommunityViz is an advanced yet easy-to-use GIS software designed to help people visualize, analyze, and communicate about the future of their communities. CommunityViz “shows” you the implications of different plans and choices.From March 2nd to 4th Amy Anderson of Placeways LLC the makers of Community Viz conducted a workshop to train 10 participants from the EBM Partnership and Koror State on how to use the tool.
