Police has new leads on Teruko’s murder case

It’s been a year since Teruko Franz-Kingya was murdered in October last year but her assailant is still at large.

Criminal Investigation Section Lt. Aloysius Alonz said they are still investigating the case but admitted they have new developments.

Alonz said they picked up several persons last week for questioning in connection to the case but no arrest has been made yet.

He added no suspect has been positively identified but they are working on positive leads right now.

Alonz also clarified that they did not arrest a fall guy last year. He said the case has been open and no charge has been filed against anyone yet.

It will be recalled that Kingya’s grandson Ngirturong Gorey Kingya was picked up for questioning after his grandmother was found dead on October 12.

The grandson was detained for a month and was under medical observation.

The grandson was said to be suffering from a “prosecutorial delusion” at that time.

Alonz said the grandson was released later because there was no direct evidence to point him relating to the crime.

Alonz said suspect(s) could be more than one and they are now working on that angle.

The victim was struck with a sharp object in the head.

The victim was pronounced dead on the crime scene.
