BPS Director Norvert H.Yano in an interview on Monday said that based on their initial investigations, the attack had nothing to do with Doktok’s current assignment, which is providing security protection to Independent Council Lewis Harley of the Pacific Savings Bank.
“The incident is not connected to PSB so its been ruled out already,”Director Yano said.
Yano said Doktok’s condition has improved and is now stable but he is still under observation at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.
“He is slowly recovering but we don’t want to pressure him so we’re still waiting for him to be fully recovered before we start asking him questions,”Yano said.
“Also, he could not remember the incident. He only remembered what happened on Wednesday, the day before the incident but after that day he could not remember anymore,”Yano added.
Yano said Doktok had also internal bleeding but doctor will continue to monitor his brain condition.
Yano said Doktok’s wife and her 18-yer-old son were both cooperative to the investigation, but they are not yet off the hook.
“They are still under investigation. Since we don’t have a suspect from the outside yet so we’re focusing our investigation inside the house and within the neighborhood,”Yano said.
Yano said Doktok was sleeping in his bedroom when attacked by an individual with a blunt object.
Doktok was hit on the right side of the head with the blunt object.
It was his wife who found him that day.
Yano said based on the testimony of the wife, she woke up early to prepare to work that day.
The victim was sleeping on the bed when she went out of their bedroom. When she went back later, she found her husband sitting on the floor and with some injury in the head.
The wife called her son and it was the victim’s step-son who called for ambulance and reported the incident to the police at 5 am.
