According to the Palau Public Utilities Corporation (PPUC) the power outages were due to the repair of the Pielstik Engine No. 5 piston at the Aimeliik Plant.
The power outage affected the entire Airai State and Meyuns area. The power outage lasted for two hours.The area of Palau High School to Franco Store and SDA School to Ikelau and Idid area were also affected for two hours.
Ngermid, Ngerkesoual, Ngerchemai, Iyebukel, Meas, and parts of Meketoo and Dngeronger and T-Dock and Babeldaob area were also without electricity for two hours.
