PPUC said that among the activities lined up are the banner hanging, brochure passing on energy conservation and renewable energy and a walkathon on July 4 and PPUC’s official observance of the July 6, 2009 as a holiday.
PPUC was established through the Republic of Palau Public Law 4-13 and has been providing electrical services to the Republic of Palau since July 6, 1994.Presently, Kenneth Uyehara is the Chief Executive Officer/General Manager with over 100 employees serving the various departments within the corporation.The PPUC Board of Directors is made up of Rukebai K. Inabo (Chairpwoman), Demei Obak (Vice-Chairman) and Ms. Ollai Polli (Secretary/Treasurer).There are five power plants managed under the PPUC, the Aimeliik Power Plant, Malakal Power Plant, Peleliu Power Plant, Angaur Power Plant and Kayangel Power Plant.PPUC said it is also thanking the following sponsors;SHELL-Palau, Palau Energy Office, Blue Bay Petroleum Inc,Palau Community Action Agency, Best Donut & Coffee House,Palau National Olympic Committee, Palau Track and Field and Palau Women and Sports Commission.
