Election Officer Avery Midas in a phone interview yesterday said that the printing of 4,650 ballots were delayed for sometime because they have to address first some issues concerning the petition filed against former speaker Timothy Tero Uehara who is running as Legislature in Ngerbeched.
Midas said they have to screen all candidates to see if they are qualified to run and there was only one petition filed against a candidate.
He said the issue against Uehara had been resolved and the Board decided that Uehara is qualified to run for public office in Ngerbeched.
Midas said they can now proceed with the printing of the ballots and Uehara’s name will be included in the list of the official candidates for the Koror State 9th General Election on November 10, 2009.
Here are the names of the official candidates which will be printed in the election ballots: For Governor, incumbent Governor Yositaka “Yosi” Adachi and former Senator Alan R. Seid.
For Legislature at-large, there are 18 candidates: Roland Tangelbad Merar, Herman Balio Ngiraidong, Lucio Nishimura Remoket, Kambes Kesolei, Roman Yano, Ideson Sumang, Sinesio R. Sandei, Ignatio “Inas” Morei, Kazuki “Topps” Sungino, Uchel Sechewas, Tony Adelbai, Millan Isack, Tobias L. Marbou, Franco Gibbons, Joseph “Joe” Aitaro, Ann “Anne” L. Pedro, Charles “Les” Uong and Kenji Dengokl.
For the 12 Hamlets Legislature: Only Wilson Ngirausui is running for Ngermid; Ehrlick Malas Termeteet and Job R. Kikuo for Ngerchemai; Kyonori Tellames, S. Ngelechel Etpison and Merol Ngirmeriil for Idid; Richard Alonz for Ikelau; Tange Fritz Mariur and Mengkur W. Rechelulk for Dngeronger; Leorry Ngiramowai and Ricky Mechol for Meyuns.
For Ngerkesoaol, the candidates are Geggie A. Udui and Toribiong Masang; Eyos Rudimch and Flavin Iyar for Iyebukel; Augusto Ngirmang and Bernice Ngirkelau for Meketii; Timothy Tero Uehara, Bisayang “Ush” Luii and Felix Francisco for Ngerbeched; Jason Nolan and Debedebk Franz for Madalaii and Clarence Mesubed Saka and Paulus Ongalibang for Ngerkebesang.
