RB Camacho vows to be a ‘doer’

RAMON “RB” Blas Camacho would be a “doer” if elected as Saipan mayor.

A hands-on approach is what our Saipan community needs, Camacho said, adding that he would revive the Neighborhood Watch Program.

“That would be my first move in engaging the community,” he said.

Camacho wants to be the “people’s mayor” who is focused on the needs of the villages.

He said he would also initiate community awards to recognize the cleanest residential areas, the cleanest villages and the safest villages.

Camacho promised to bring public service to the community and the villages while promoting partnerships.

He said he would ask community members “what we as citizens could do to make our community a better place to raise our families.”

Camacho is running as an independent candidate for Saipan mayor.

A lifelong farmer and retired police major, Camacho is a former Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council chairman. He is currently the chairman of the CNMI Board of Parole and president of Marianas Printing Services Inc., a family company.

Republican Rep. Joseph Leepan T. Guerrero is also running for mayor in next year’s elections.

Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality Administrator Eliceo Diaz Cabrera earlier said that he, too, would run for mayor.
