Head Start Program is a federally-funded program which has been around for the past 30 years. There are 13 Head Start programs in the country, and it maintains about 500 children under its care.
According to Head Start Program Director Eydeline Ikeya, parents who are interested to enroll their children to the Head Start Program may drop by their offices or call 488-2469.
“Head Start is free and we have really good programs for pre-school,” said Ikeya.
Among Head Start’s requirements are the kids’ Hospital Cards and the parents’ pay stub. Head Start serves low-income family, explained Ikeya, so they make sure that the families they serve belong to that category.
The next school year starts on September 1, but recruitment and registration is now on going.
