Rep. Camacho: People are taking responsibility for their villages

REPRESENTATIVE Joel Camacho of Precinct 4 said he is proud of the direction the community is taking.

“People are taking responsibility for their villages,” he added.

“I would like to inform the public that the parents of the children responsible for the damage at the As Matuis basketball court have visited me and have sincerely apologized,” Camacho said.

“They have taken responsibility for their children’s actions and will also take responsibility for the damage done when repairs will be made,” he added.

“Yes, it was very unexpected and a very good sign of the direction our community is heading,” the lawmaker said.

Camacho thanked the parents “for their courage and diligence in coming forward. They asked to remain anonymous due to the children being minors, but have informed me that they will take responsibility for the damage and I will work with them to make the necessary repairs.”

Camacho has initiated a series of renovation and restoration projects of public facilities, including basketball courts, in the villages.

On Monday, community volunteer Max Aguon informed Camacho about the destroyed bench at the As Matuis basketball court.
