Saipan Beacon Lions Club cleans up Garapan beach area

ON March 19, Sunday, Saipan Beacon Lions Club members conducted a beach side clean up activity north of the 13 Fishermen monument in Garapan.

“Together as a community, we can protect the environment and promote a safe and clean island,” SBLC President Lion Marcelo “Mar” Masilungan said.

SBLC has also officially adopted the area with the Division of Parks and Recreation’s approval, as one of its club’s primary places to conduct a monthly cleaning activity.

The group likewise donated two recycled trash bins at two pavilions in the same area, and have started planting young coconut trees.

SBLC aims to provide meaningful community service projects for the benefit of the residents of the CNMI, especially those most in need.

These community projects are in accordance with the Lions Clubs International’s goals focused on childhood cancer, hunger, environment, diabetes, and vision.
