AFTER Typhoon Mawar left the Marianas, the Saipan Humane Society’s work continued on Friday, May 26, and involved check-ups, vaccinations and surgeries for 40 dogs.
Saipan Humane Society’s Co-Founder Lauren Cabrera said they were still waiting for the arrival of veterinarian Dr. Whitney Collins who got stuck on Guam. which was devastated by Mawar.
“But we are continuing on with surgeries while balancing out a heavy load of sick and wellness visits,” Caberera said.
SHS kicked off the first day of its spay and neuter clinic with returning volunteer veterinarian Dr. Kris Anderson.
In a social media post, SHS thanked the Saipan Mayor’s Office and its staff for accommodating them and providing the necessary assistance they need to make the project successful.
“We’ve been lucky to work with this team since last summer…they are just the best! A successful clinic takes a great team, and I have to say, ours is amazing,” Cabrera said.
SHS likewise thanked Ina’s Kitchen for providing lunch to the group on Friday.
