Ngirchobeketang Wasisang Sechalboi was among the members of the Ngara-Modekngei who, in 1974, initiated the creation and development of BMS in Ibobang Ngatpang. He was selected head of the Ngara-Modekngei; and he, according to living members of the school board, had chosen to establish residency in Ibobang to ensure that the needs of the school are looked after. He lived in Ibobang until his passing in March 2007.
The resolution states that in 2004, Chin had met with Sechalboi to discuss opportunities through which BMS could receive support from the government, other institutions, and individuals.The resolution further states that in September 2008, Chin conceived of an idea that would not only honor and promote Sechalboi’s legacy but would provide much needed support to BMS students.Chin gave $2000 to the BMS board, on September 14, 2008, as seed money for the establishment of the Ngirchobeketang Wasisang Sechalboi Memorial Scholarship.According to members of the board, Chin’s continuous effort to support the school and his initial donation to establish a scholarship for BMS students is appreciated and he deserves to be praised and honored.In the resolution, members of the board had indicated their sincere respect and appreciation of Chin and further commended all who raised him to become a man deserving of praise and honor.The BMS board had presented the resolution to Chin on January 11, 2009 and had forwarded copies of the resolution to Chin’s immediate maternal relatives and high-ranking officials of the nation.
