Adair Sumang was one of the supporters who came at the blessing on Thursday night and expressed his support to the candidacy of Seid who is running as a governor of Koror in November.
Sumang collapsed after his speech and he was immediately rushed to the hospital by Seid’s supporters.Seid in an interview later said that Sumang was alright and he was just over fatigued that’s why he fainted and fell.Sumang came from work and he has been over worked, Seid explained.The blessing of the headquarters went on smoothly and more than 70 people came to express their support.Seid in an interview said that he wants to be an inspiration to the youth and the voice of the people.“I promise to make Koror a foundation building for their future so that when they grow old they will remember the quality of their youth and exchange not drugs but sports, not fighting but music, not violence but poetry and not being a bully but a good speaker. A youth who is understanding of their environment and caring of their elders and culture, remembering who they are and where they come from and becoming humble and yet proud,”Seid said.Seid said that his plat form will come soon with detailed programs for infrastructure, fiscal management, funding youth programs, elderly program, conservation and economic program.“I promise the people that I can be a governor who will listen to them. I can be a governor who will understand their needs and feel their pain and their struggles. A governor who can work with them. I just don’t want to promise grand projects but to be close to the people,”he said.Seid added that his deep love for Koror opted him to run as Governor after losing to Mariur Kerai at the Vice Presidential election in November of 2008.“I grew up here and I started my political career here in Koror. I love to take initiative to make changes for the better and for the people of Koror,” he said.
