Sen. Baules employee complains of assault

“Sen. Baules came to the office Tuesday, April 6, he talked to us and discussed a few things and requested to talk to Gerilyn Lomoljo personally. Apparently they settled their misunderstanding and asked forgiveness from each other,” an embassy official said in an interview.

Based on the statement of Lomoljo executed at the embassy on April 3 at around 3:30 p.m. the victim was at the Little Beijing Restaurant at the Malakal together with her friends.

The senator happened to be there too. Baules upon seeing the victim grabbed her hand, punched her in the head and pulled her hair causing Lomoljo to fall down.

Police responded at the scene.

PE officials said that Lomoljo gave her statement to the police and she went throughmedical examination for her sustained injuries.

“We advised Gerilyn if she wants to file a complaint we will support her. We will provide the necessary support.” The embassy official added.

Prior to the incident, Lomoljo left her employer Sen. Baules on March 30 because of alleged verbal abuse and threats. She went to the embassy for help, she sought refuge there for several days.

On April 6, Baules went to the embassy and talked with the officials. He also talked with her employee personally and settled their spat.

There is also a report that Baules purchased a ticket for Lomoljo for her return to thePhilippines.

Aside from Lomoljo there were also two employees of the senator who resigned from him and now staying with the embassy.
