House Joint Resolution No. 7-89-35S calls for the recognition and commendation of the three states for their efforts in ensuring the future quality and quantity of water within their respective jurisdictions.The resolution said that the Babeldaob Watershed Alliance is aimed at developing strategies for maintaining “abundant, high quality water on Babeldaob through care and management of watershed areas and where appropriate by implementing programs to expand such strategies.The resolution said added that the alliance also seeks to provide and share experiences and innovative ways of managing and protecting the important watersheds that cross political boundaries on Babeldaob.The Alliance was led by Chief Reklai Raphael Bao Ngirmang and the traditional and elected leaders of the alliance member states ensure wise use of important resources for the public.The House of Delegates have approved the resolution and submitted it to the Senate for adoption.
