Settlement agreement reached in lawsuit against former IPI pit manager

DISTRICT Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona has dismissed with prejudice the lawsuit filed by Yuqin Gui against Stephen Brown following a stipulation of dismissal.

Judge Manglona dismissed Brown as a defendant in the case, but she also ordered him to make himself available to testify truthfully if called upon to do so through notice provided through his attorney.

Brown is a former pit manager of Imperial Pacific International LLC while Gui is a former pit supervisor of the casino investor.

The judge noted in her order that Gui’s lawsuit against IPI has not been settled and will continue. IPI has denied Gui’s allegations.

The judge said because Gui and Brown agreed through stipulation, the court will retain jurisdiction to enforce the terms of their settlement.

According to the stipulation, Gui and Brown have confidentially settled the case.

Brown is represented by attorneys Catherine J. Cachero and Sean Frink while Gui is represented by attorney William M. Fitzgerald.

In her lawsuit filed in October 2019, Gui accused Brown of sexual harassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

She also sued IPI for negligent supervision and ratification.

Her lawsuit demands an award of damages against IPI.

Gui filed a similar lawsuit against Brown and IPI in Superior Court, but Variety has not obtained any updates about it.

In the local court, Gui sued Brown for intentional infliction of emotional distress.
