Students receive gifts from Keelung City Government

Keelung City, Taiwan is Ngarchelong State’s “sister city.” Ties between Keelung and Ngarchelong were established about four years ago; and since then both governments have built on the ties to develop a solid base for a long-lasting relationship.

Representatives and officials of Keelung City visited Ngarchelong on Tuesday.  They had brought with them gifts for students – gifts, which they had brought from Taiwan.According to school officials, this was not the first time that Keelung City officials have visited the school.“Two years ago, a delegation of officials from Keelung also brought Christmas gifts for our students,” said a teacher. “The students do enjoy the gifts.”Governor Browny Salvador, members of the Ngarchelong State Assembly, school personnel, and the students thanked the Keelung representatives for the gifts.Each student from the school received a gift.After presenting the students with gifts, the members of the Keelung Sister City Committee left for a tour of the state and all of Babeldaob.
