‘The Gigolos’ of Godfather’s Bar add color to Bisita Luta Festival

ROTA — Saipan’s most popular Godfather’s Bar house band, The Gigolos were one of the guest performers during the three-day Rota annual fiesta held over the  weekend.

The  Bisita Luta Festival aims to promote the island as a prime travel destination.

For the second year in a now, The Gigolos were invited to perform at the festival. They were one of the headline performers in the many signature activities hosted by the municipality.

The Gigolos performed at the Chamorro Village in Songsong on Oct. 7 and 8.

The band members are Joan, Jerry, Eli, Rommel and Bode.

The Gigolos played Chamorro songs such as “Gai Asi Ni Guahu” and “Koronan Flores,” classic rock tunes like “Living on a Prayer” and “Long Train Running,” the pop songs of Lady Gaga and Selena, and danceable tunes like  the “Electric Slide” as well as Chamorro chacha, and Palauan hit songs.

A multilingual band, the Gigolos can also play a variety of hit Korean, Japanese and Chinese songs. They perform live at the Godfather’s Bar in Garapan starting at 9 p.m. every night except Tuesday.

The Bisita Luta Festival was also highlighted by the Bud Light Luta Fishing Derby, the delicacies competition and the food competition which allowed visitors to partake the best dishes presented in the local coconut crab and deer meat categories.
