Three-day training

Officers with the police division of the Department of Public Safety have completed a three-day training on evidence/crime scene investigation conducted by instructors with the Federal Bureau of Investigations. The training session, which was held on April 25-27, took place at the multi-purpose center in Susupe. There were two instructors from Guam, one from Hawaii, and resident agent Haejun Park. They provided instructional class materials, presented scenarios, and had officers process simulated crime scenes. The primary purpose of the training was to give officers the needed skills to process a crime scene. They learned how to identify, collect, and preserve evidence as well as correctly document evidence. They also learned how to search and process a vehicle properly.
