Toribiong donates statue

Toribiong told reporters that the statue he donated depicts Palauan motherhood.

 He said his grandmother was the source of inspiration for the statue. Toribiong named the statue as Dirra Mesulang, which means “Madam, thank you”He added that the statue represents a mother who takes care of the taro patch and her children.Toribiong said that mothers in Palau are responsible for the development of its culture.

The Odesengal a Kle-Edil er Belau was carved by Ngirasuong Techur.
