Toribiong said that he will announce the names of new nominees for the Minister of Community of Cultural Affairs and Minister of Environment, Natural Resources and Tourism.
Toribiong previously appointed Scott Yano to the Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs and Youlsau Bells for the Environment Minister.
Yano did not get enough votes from the Senate to get confirmation while Bells’ name was withdrawn.
Yano’s appointment was taken into consideration for the second time but only got an 8-5 vote. He needs nine votes to be confirmed.
Last week, seven nominees took their oath to office after passing the confirmation hearings and they are Sandra Pierantozzi, State Minister, Stevenson Kuartei as Health Minister; Masa-Aki Emesiochl as Education Minister, Johnny Gibbons as Minister of Justice, Jackson Ngiraingas as Minister of Public Infrastructure, Industries and Commerce; Special Prosecutor Michael Copeland and Compact negotiator Joshua Koshiba.
