REPUBLICAN Gov. Ralph Deleon Guerrero Torres and running mate Senate Floor Leader Vinnie Flores Sablan are calling for gubernatorial and lt. gubernatorial debates prior to the Nov. 25 runoff election.
In a statement, Torres and Sablan said:
“Once again our dear people of the CNMI deserve the opportunity to fully compare us directly as candidates for governor and lt. governor, before they decide who will lead our islands for the next four years.
“We publicly asked for a debate and [our opponents] agreed, ‘anytime and anywhere’ [during] their press conference. But they have failed to respond….
“Again, we are calling for gubernatorial and lt. gubernatorial debates…to give our people an open discussion about our respective plans for the future.
“We hope that the Palacios-Apatang campaign supports having a real debate on the issues.”
