The instructor will be here for eight days to teach the students the basic in playing the instruments which the Taiwan Navy Academy donated.
The instructor met the LEEP marching band members Thursday at the Palau Community College grand stand and taught the students how to handle the instruments properly.The instructor told the students to handle the instruments with proper care and to treat it as their “special someone.”The instructor said the instruments were expensive and some of these cost $600 each.The students were taught how to play French horn instrument, snare drums, bassdrums and trumphets.The instructor had been a Band Director of Zhongshan Girls High School Marching Band in Taipei, San-Sin High School of Commerce & Home Economics Marching Band, Shu Te Home Economics & Commercial High School Marching Band, Affiliated High School of Army Academy ROC Marching Band in Taoyuan, Chung Cheng Armed Force Preparatory School Marching Band in Kaohsiung, National Taichung First Senior High School Concert Band in Taichung and Shin Shing High School Marching Band in Taoyuan.He was also the Committeeman of Taiwan Band Association and Overseas Director for “Perform in Harmony with the Olympic Spirit” in Beijing Olympic Games.Chien Neng Canon Huang got his degree at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA.
