Traveler tests positive for Covid-19

THE Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. on Wednesday reported the CNMI’s 161st Covid-19 case since March 28, 2020.

The individual was identified through travel screening and confirmed diagnosis through fifth-day testing, CHCC said.

It added that the individual has been safely in quarantine and was moved to the designated isolation area for close monitoring.

CHCC said it has already initiated contact tracing for the most immediate contacts of the new confirmed case, including passengers on the same flight.

As of Wednesday, the CNMI Covid-19 dashboard showed that two individuals had to undergo a 14-day incubation period since the last community transmission.

The dashboard also indicates that 125 of the CNMI’s total cases were identified through travel testing, 11 through community screening and 25 through contact tracing.

Also on Wednesday, CHCC conducted surveillance testing for community members at Kanoa Resort, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

CHCC said it will also put up a vaccination site to administer the Moderna vaccine for people 60 years and older on Saturday, April 17, 2021, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the Systems of Care next to the basketball court in San Antonio.
