A ZUMBA marathon fundraiser will be held today, June 29, Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Roundhouse of Garapan park as a tribute to the late Bobby Nacario Sanje, a longtime dance instructor and Zumba leader on Saipan. He passed away on June 13, 2023 at the age of 57.
Joseph Caranto, a Zumba instructor and one of the event organizers, said tickets are being sold at $10 each, and the proceeds will be given to Sanje’s family.
Sanje’s Zumba group, Fitness in Motion, as well as other Zumba groups, will participate in the fundraiser.
Sanje was a great motivator and would often call members to ask why they did not come to a Zumba session. Patient and understanding, he would always remind his group participants to engage in Zumba for health benefits.
The funeral Mass for Sanje was held Monday at San Antonio church.
