TWENTY-SEVEN individuals attended the free 10-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration or OSHA training hosted by the United Filipino Organizations in Dandan.
“Part of the UFO’s advocacy is to provide community services as well as continuing education that is really in demand now, especially for jobs where safety is always mandatory,” UFO President Marcelo Masilungan said.
He said participants of the free training may become a safety officer of a construction company after undergoing an additional 30-hour OSHA training.
He said UFO will host another OSHA training. More details will be announced later.
The OSHA 10-hour training is designed for entry-level workers in the construction and general industry.
The OSHA Outreach Training Program is voluntary, but employers may require you to earn an OSHA 10 card by undergoing the training.
This training is also mandatory in certain states, cities and other jurisdictions.
The OSHA 10-hour construction training is appropriate for workers who perform new construction, alterations or repairs. If you work in any industry other than construction, agriculture or maritime, OSHA considers you a general industry worker and recommends that you take the OSHA 10 general industry course.
The United Filipino Organizations recently hosted a free 10-hour OSHA training.
