The swearing-in ceremony will push through following the order of the court dismissing the suit against Ulechong filed by a losing candidate.
The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Ulechong and the Palau Election Commission and dismissed the claims of Priscilla Subris.
Subris filed a suit at the Supreme Court and sought for an order to stop Ulechong from taking the oath of office while the case is pending in court.
Subris also asked for run-off election to give her opportunity to receive more votes than Ulechong but the court dismissed her suit.
After the swearing-in ceremony, the State’s various Capital Improvement Projects will also be unveiled.
Legislators elect will also take their oath of office today.
The legislators who will be swearing-in are Benjamin Iskawa, Tadashi Sakuma, Sweeny Shiro, Wilbert Ngirakamerang, Kalisto Manahane, Isaac Bai, Johnson Saikemal, George Matsuda, Naito Soaladaob and Jesse Edesomel.
