US military to conduct training at Farallon de Medinilla

(CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency) — CNMI Emergency Operations Center State Warning Point, in conjunction with U.S. Naval Forces Marianas Guam, would like to inform the general public that the U.S. Marine Corps will conduct military vehicle operator training at Farallon de Medinilla. The dates and times are as follows:

July 23-Aug. 31, 2021

12 a.m.-11:59 p.m.

Marine vessels are advised to remain clear 12 nautical miles around Farallon de Medinilla for the duration of the event and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories.

Residents in the areas surrounding the training exercises should not be alarmed if they hear or see increased activity. Additionally, marine vessels are advised to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories and remain clear of the areas for the duration of the events.

Due to the danger imposed by these activities, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres is strongly advising the general public, especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators, to stay away from these areas during the time and dates indicated.

The cooperation and understanding of the general public is greatly appreciated. Should you have any questions, contact the CNMI EOC State Warning Point at 237-8000, VHF Marine Channel-16, and HF Single Side Band radio on 5.205.0.
