Yap improves airport lobby

The Yap International Airport has been improved with a lobby extension project funded by the Yap Visitors Bureau through a grant by the U.S. Joint Economic Management Committee. The visitors bureau sought to improve the “Gateway Effect” for visitors at the Yap International Airport by utilizing the $475,000 grant to expand the existing lobby and provide shelter for the passenger drop off and pick up area by adding a driveway canopy. The extended structure was designed by the Yap Public Works Construction Engineering Management Office and built by the Yap Cooperative Association Construction Company.
