The committee has invited key witnesses from the government to attend the public hearing scheduled at 10 a.m. in the legislative chamber.
The committee will discuss Resolution 8-29 which is requesting the Federated States of Micronesia Petroleum Corp. to consider oil exploration in the FSM.
The government witnesses will include the governor of Yap, the Chairman or representative of the Council of Pilung, the chairman or representative of the Council of Tamol, the director of the Department of Resources and Development, and the Yap manager of FSMPC.
The Legislature is also inviting members of the public to offer their testimonies.
