A representative from a Japanese purse seining company will arrive in Yap sometime next week to recruit potential workmen.
According to the announcement from the YFA, the purse seining company representative from Japan will be arriving in Yap next Sunday, July 17.
This is not the first time that purse seining companies have recruited from Yap.
An official from YFA stated that purse seining companies have recruited from Yap from years past.
There seems to be a high demand for workers in the fishing industry.
YFA is looking for interested individuals, “preferably males between the ages of 20 to 30,” to sign up at the YFA office no later than this Friday, July 15, 2011. Interested individuals must come to the YFA office with their passports.
For more information, contact Jeff Pong or Mary Gootineg at the YFA office at 691-350-2185 during government working hours.
