The event will be held at the Airport Rescue & Fire Fighting Facility by the Yap International Airport from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
The workshop will focus on many aspects of tropical cyclones and the warning system, the causes of the weather hazards in Yap, volcanoes, rip current, and the tsunami risk, climate change, El Niño and tropical cyclone decision-making.
The course is designed for key decision-makers and their assistants of government agencies, non-government organizations, and the business/private sector.
The workshop will be conducted by Chip Guard, warning coordination meteorologist from the National Weather Service on Guam.
