The individual research projects of public school students Ryan Kang, Catherin Byen and Jaibelle Nelmida were discussed in the 2021 Summer Research Symposium of the Short-Term Research Experience for Underrepresented Persons or STEP-UP program. This year’s symposium was held virtually from Aug. 10 to 12, 2021.
