NAPA bagged their seventh win in the masters division of the Saipan Centennial Lions Club Basketball League by overpowering SMEC, 105-72, Saturday at the TSL Sports Complex.
SMEC was the first to establish control with Brillo, Panes and Odicta finding their range from behind the three-point line with a bucket each while Atoy, Bony and Cortez kept the momentum going with perimeter jumpers as their team seized the lead, 23-13.
However, in the second quarter, NAPA turned the tables with their own offensive rally.
Abuy led the NAPA assault with four three-pointers while team mates Montano and Ebuen delivered two additional buckets. For their part, Bartolo and Tabora combined for 10 points as NAPA snatched the advantage by half-time, 52-41.
In the third canto, Panes was the only SMEC player to show consistency as he stood at the frontline with nine points, but NAPA’s ball distribution continued to work in their favor as they maintain a double-digit spread, 72-61.
The lead expanded in the fourth quarter as NAPAs De Jesus joined the scoring spree with two triples while Abuy and Montano also delivered for their team.
SMEC’s output was cut down 11 team points as NAPA cruised to a blowout victory, 105-72.
Open division
In the open division, BlueHaus Ali’i and The Game defeated their respective opponents.
BlueHaus Ali’i, despite a shortage of players, prevailed against Vizion Insurance 84-73. Lauron led the team with 22 points with Bernardo right by his side with 16 points.
The Game had a dominant performance and were led by Mintac who scored 33 points while Dao and Deleon Guerrero contributed 29 points each to gun down Royal Pacific, 118-81.
