BDE douse Hotshots, 13-8

BDE are climbing up the ladder in the ladies division of the Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball League 2023 after outplaying the Hotshots, 13-8, Sunday at the Dandan baseball field.

The Hotshots entered the game swinging with three runs  made thanks to Lem Deleon Guerrero’s triple for a 3-0 lead.

BDE managed to put a stop to the bleeding, scoring two runs in the bottom of the third inning to cut the Hotshots’ lead.

The Hotshots quicky recovered in the top of the fourth with Keyona and Devonne Sablan notching RBIs and adding another run in the top of the fifth to extend the lead once again, 6-2

But in the bottom of the fifth, BDE staged a rally to score four runs with Clarissa Mabel, Ikelau Ngrarois, and Verly Secharmidol earning an RBI each to grasp control for the first time.

They continued to ride the momentum with Linae Cabrera and Secharmidol each connecting two-RBI triples with three more added to stretch the gap, 13-6.

The  Hotshots tried to stay alive but were only allowed two runs in the top of the seventh before BDE snagged the final out needed to secure the win with the bottom half of the seventh inning unplayed, 13-8.

Also joining the winner’s circle were the Lady Legals who powered past Lady Sufa, 17-5.
